i know i'm slightly late on this, but hey, what the heck:)
good points from amit....people need to read, then re-read the blessed books.
the cloak: its not curse-proof. it is stated by dumbledore, in kings cross station, that it is impenetratable! this is meaning you cannot see through it. dumbledore does not see through it, he hazzards a guess Harry is under it, and he also states in book 6 that magic, all magic leaves traces. mad-eye has a bloody magical eye...enough said.
the torture spell used by voldemort on harry after harry's 'death' in book 7 does not work because as dumbledore points out, being ready die for everyone has left a lasting protection similar to lily's.
i took the 19 years later part about "what are they all staring at" as an insider joke. if you read it in that context it makes much more sense. albus is saying, haha what are they staring at, and the rest of them are saying oh i dont know, maybe coz the most famous bloody wizard is stood on the platform.
some people just dont get the magic of HP.....it all makes perfect sense, like snape suggests, if you can understand fine distinctions.....

Rosie, I think you should read the book 4, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, again especially the end chapters when Voldy comes back & explains about his attempts to the death eaters where he clearly says that he was foolish to mess around trying to get philosopher's stone as he wanted immortality. Even after making horcruxes he's not immortal as is proved in books 6 & 7 where after destruction of all the remaining horcruxes Harry finally is able to kill Voldy for good! :)

When Voldy rises again all he needs is Harry's blood, the blood of a faithful servant, and the bones of his father. So why did he not just get Quirrel to do this in the first book? Why bother messing around with the Philosopher's Stone when he already had a "faithful servant"? Also, how come it was only when Harry returned to Hogwarts Voldy decided to make attempts to return?!!

You spelled 'Cruciatas' instead of 'Cruciatus'

Any Potter fan would be able to spell this. *eyeroll*

Who says they don't know Harry's fame? I know you are referring to the epilogue where Albus asks why everyone's looking at Harry. It just might be that for him & other children of Harry & that of Ron, Harry might not be a big deal. Since you say that you're a true fan & have read all 7 books with eyes wide open, then I think I shouldn't need to tell you that Harry was just another guy amongst his close ones; like Weasley's for example, where he was treated as some royalty the first time he was there but from then on he was just part of family so no special interest in him coming over at their place which some other witch/wizard on the street will surely display! So same thing happened there, for his & Ron's kids he was just family, someone they knew & saw everyday/regularly so no big deal, they were used to it, but it was pretty big deal for others who were staring on the platform! :)

I'm a true fan and have read all 7 books with my eyes open as wide as posible. There is just one thing I want to know....if the tale of the "boy who lived" survived 11 years when Harry stepped on to the Hogwarts train for the 1st time, then why didn't his own children know his fame 19 years later?

In the 7th book, Harry’s cloak is said to be able to repel spells and no one is able to see through the cloak, but Mad-Eye (Barty Crouch as Mad-Eye) is able to see harry in the 4th book repeatedly. What about that?

Amanda, please read the 9th question from top & its answer. I think you will find that answer satisfactory.

And I don’t understand the whole…thing…with the Elder Wand. I know that Draco disarmed Dumbledore in the 5th book, which made it his, yes…I understand. But what about in the Manor, when Harry takes Draco’s wand? He wasn’t taking the Elder Wand, so how is the Elder wand Harry’s?

As Ollivander mentioned, if a wand's master is defeated, his wands change loyalty, thats magic! So it hardly matters if you take 1 wand or 2 from the wizard/witch whom you defeat, all his/her wands will become loyal to you. So be it that Harry took Draco's own wand when we defeated him in the Malfoy Manor, Draco's other wand(the Elder Wand about which Draco didn't know anything) also switched loyalty & associated itself with its new master!! :)
